Theme Day: Cafe Chairs

I didn't get a shot of cafe chairs until the last minute, when yesterday afternoon I had coffee with a friend at Fiore Market Cafe in south Pasadena. We considered other spots, but my friend told me Fiore had the best chairs. The chairs on the outside patio are painted a bright, lime green. I got a few shots of them. But when I went inside to order my coffee, this cozy corner caught my eye.

The best chairs are hopefully a lot more comfortable than these, but your inside corner table is definitely the best shot.

This is a fascinating and fun theme. Keep on clicking.

I love the look of that spot too, Petrea. I have never been Fiore Market. Liking that sunshine outside :). Have a good weekend.

Delightful looking spot and very pretty chairs. (And I like the idea of bright green chairs on the patio.) Fiore Market Cafe has a lot going for it too (jazz! pizza class! double chocolate brownies!). I'm interested in the copy of Polpo on the table -- I looked it up and it sounds like a fascinating collection of recipes and photos. What's the other book?

I've always wondered about this place as I hurl past on the 710 freeway link (aka Fremont). Is it a private restaurant for the Playhouse? is it open? Can I go there just for coffee and cake? So glad you've been there and liked it. The interior looks so welcoming.

Your Cape Town link takes me to a car park, but I can't see any chairs?

The green ones are the same, Dina. I was surprised at how comfortable they are. Maybe it was the good company.

Andy, I didn't vote for this one. Cafe chairs? Too easy! But people are doing interesting things with it.

LOL, it's on the patio of the Fremont Centre Theatre, a lovely old building (still a live venue theater). http://www.fremontcentretheatre.com/

Katie, I zoomed on the book as much as I could. All I know is it's called "Life."

Bellis, the restaurant is open to the public and you can go for coffee and cake.
Not every blog participates in theme day. I just thought folks who've never been to Cape Town might want to check it out.

There is nothing better than finding a little cozy corner like that to settle into with a cup of coffee, a window to watch the world and a book. It's all there and comfortable chairs too.

Wonderfully cosy looking place, and a perfect spot to enjoy a coffee.

That it is. Next time I'll sneak over there with a book and see if I can get the corner table.

This looks a very cozy corner indeed. This place reminds me very much of the Village Bakers down the road from us in the neighboring, well, village (which sadly closed after Hurricane Sandy losses). Wonderful looking place, wonderful nook for coffee.

Lovely photo, Petrea. And I enjoyed the patio chairs from other places too. If only I had time to look at them all! The Selma ALA ones caught my eye, as gaudy things often do. :)

I'll have to check that one out!

Oh!!! I'm so glad there's a cafe at the Fremont!!! Have you been to the theater there??? We've been several times...and we know the owners, Lisa and James...wonderful people...very giving to the community!!! Last time I was in SoPas the cafe wasn't there...looks like it's a cozy spot. Is it open for lunch and dinner???

Petrea Burchard said...

I don't know if it's open for dinner, Chieftess, but check the about page and see if you know the owners.

We know the owners of the Fremont Theater...don't know the cafe owners...I sure hope it catches on!!! This little spot has had a few places come and go. The theater is a very small theater...with fabulous talent!!! I always wanted to go to the original cafe before a play, but it was closed when we did go...

They look lonely. I think I'll bring a book and linger.

My daughter has some great stories but her building isn't near as nice as the last couple of posts!

I have about a million questions for her, BD!

these particular chairs don't look the comfiest, but that corner loos like a perfect out of the way spot to sit and observe.....

I think pure happiness awaits, in that very corner. As long as there's cake involved.

super "last minute" entry...love it!

It was a lucky pick. We chose based on the most photogenic chairs, and the food and service lived up to it.

This place looks comfy and homey. Your photo would also make a wonderful watercolor painting.

My wife Anne and I own Fiore Market Cafe. We opened over two years ago and found the green tables and chairs on line from JC Penney. We loved the color and felt like they would be great on the patio. The wood chairs are from IKEA. The wood table inside is an old kitchen/baking table. We took off the stainless steel legs and built wood legs for it. Check out our website for more information. We make homemade bread. Yesterday we baked 60 loaves.

Nice to see you here, Fiore Market Cafe! I was so comfy at your place, and jealous of the lady at the next table because she had cake. What a lovely spot. Can't wait to visit again.
